What is an intern? A social work intern is someone who has met the educational requirements for social work/counseling but is still completing hours and requirements to become licensed by the state. An intern will work with a supervisor who will review the intern’s work and progress with clients. Counseling & Social Work interns are insured and supported by a fully-licensed Social Worker and can offer many of the same therapeutic interventions as their licensed counterpart.
